6 Things To Do In Mission Beach, Australia

I have been searching for a place that connects with my soul recently.I've felt the need for some sort of retreat, a deeper connection with something or somewhere, and when I stumbled upon a little place along the tropical coast of Queensland called Mission Beach, I knew that I had found it.Mission Beach is an often overlooked bit of the typical traveler route up the east coast of Australia but it has snuck up and nestled in tightly to a little piece of my heart. I have been here only five days and most of the people that have been passing through st[...]

A Beach Day in Sydney: Watson’s Bay and Queen’s Beach

Located on the northern tip of Sydney's Eastern suburbs sits Watson's Bay, a suburb nestled in a harbour that looks out to the skyline of Sydney's CBD in the distance. Considered one of the best spots in Sydney to catch a glowing sunset, it is well worth an afternoon of your time. I had plans to visit as many beaches in Sydney as I could - just as I had in Perth. But this didn't really end up happening. Having a car to use in Perth made it a lot faster to venture to all of the beaches along the sunset coast. Unfortunately in Sydney I didn't have that luxury and[...]

The Day I Learned to Crack Open a Coconut in Barbados

"At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour, but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun." -Unknown The bus weaved it's way up and over the hills that make up Barbados' east coast, winding down the road until at last it came around a corner presenting the most beautiful of views, capturing us all into silence. We were high above the rugged coastline, looking down upon the many cliffs that jutted out into the Atlantic and the palm trees that dotted the shore. A very religious island, Easter in Barbados[...]

The Man Behind the Stone

If you walk along a particular stretch of beach, from Paradise to Batts Rock, you'll come across a number of coral stone statues, each of different shape and size. Clearly made by hand, stones delicately balance atop one another in such a way to make an intriguing piece of art. These stone statues appear along the beach, placed individually or in groups. I noticed them on my first afternoon at the beach and they always made me wonder what their story were. A few days ago, my questions were answered. As the sun began to set over the sea a man made his way down t[...]

Koh Phi Phi, Thailand.

As my first year of university comes to an end and summer approaches, my mind is buzzing with ideas of new travel adventures for the coming months. A friend and I have been planning a one to two month trip of South East Asia, starting with some of the islands in the south of Thailand and moving on to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Northern Thailand. However, as money is an issue, this isn't an absolute certainty quite yet. Fingers crossed though, everybody! As these new plans are coming into place, I've been remembering my trip to Thailand last summer. I have writte[...]
